Finally back in the studio shooting today! It felt so good to get back into the swing of shooting again. I’m trying lately to get my hands on anything. Shooting and doing editorial is like working out a muscle. The more I do, the stronger and quicker i’ll become. I’m happy to have found Ricardo Nelson. He’s an amazing photographer and really a pleasure to work with. He’s test shooting models right now for a number of agencies. Test shoots tend to be the most fun cause you can get really creative with what kind of shots you do. The concept, including hair, make-up and the like, is all up to those involved. Here’s a sneak peek of one of my favorite looks from today…

This dress was seriously giving me everything. But to offset how vintage and period the dress was, I decided to go with a deconstructed ethereal sewn up-do with a headband. I think it turned out as the perfect mix of modern and vintage. And highlighted the model Galadriel Brady’s strong facial features. I used Kevin Murphy’s Full Again and Session Spray to achieve this look.

I can’t wait to get the final pictures back! It had been so long that I forgot how rewarding and fulfilling shooting can be. Especially when you are working with such lovely people.
